Below I wrote “Weight Room Sucks!” and It’s been something I like to share every year to my lifters and parents. There is always a reason for why we train; weight loss, strength, health, performance, but all physical reasons. If you dig deeper exercise has more to meaning to you. Weight Room Sucks is my why behind training and coaching.
ENJOY!
We walk into a weight room and get hot, sweaty, fatigue ourselves, and feel sore and ache the next couple days. That sucks! We lift these inanimate objects, get frustrated, throw, bang, and clang them, for what; to look better, move better, perform better, and be healthy? Why? Why do we abuse ourselves mentally, physically, and emotionally for the weight room?
We do it because it sucks!
The weight room sucks the stress and worry of the day away.
The weight room sucks the anxiety of what I must do tomorrow away.
The weight room takes your rough day and sucks some if not all the pain of it away.
The weight room sucks all the drama of sex, religion, race, color, or opinions away and brings everyone to one place for one purpose.
The weight room is the one place that sucks self-doubt out little by little until you realize what you are capable of: physically, mentally, and emotionally.
The weight room and coaching has been the one neutral zone for me over these last 10 years. No matter how bad a day, no matter how rough a shift at work, it has been the one place that sucks everything away, even if it is just a little bit. This doesn’t have to be a gym, this can be garage that has weights or exercise equipment. It is a room with weights! Your body is a weight, so if you only have you, then lift your butt up, and move! Find why the weight room sucks and embrace everything about it!
